From the shores of Finland, a bunch of teenage r'n'r dropouts decided to form a band to kill the most horrible beast in man's life: boredom. Like thousands of other teenagers all over the world, these Finnish guys tried music to escape everyday's mediocrity and wrapped up 4 songs of blistering demento garage punk rock, dirty and catchy, sleazy and sexy. This is nothing new, same 3 chords, same anger, but it's good as it is. I can imagine myself being one of these guys: hooked up on cheap drugs and booze, guitar in hand, middle-finger to the world. Genuine shit.
GARAGE AND BEAT - 20 DOLLAR WHORE "Teenage Fuckin' Boredom" 7" EP
Good punk rock with a cool loose feel and a great crunchy guitar sound from a four piece powerhouse. The vocals are on the gruff side, but
not overly affected, and are given a subtle electronic treatment on a few of the four tunes. The band expresses their frustrations and pent up emotions fairly eloquently on "Real Life B-Movie,"
"Teenage Boredome," "So Damn Hard" and "Big Black Lover." The pace is fast enough to keep your heart pounding, but not so fast you loose the thread of the lyrics. Some of this reminds me of the early Saints when they had that awesome bare bones rock soun.

Cute! I swear to God, I tried to come at this feeling all jaded and pissy old reviewerlike. Now I just want to lend a hand to these poor teenage losers in Finland. Won't you? Send them your surplus records, porn, and booze to inspire them to write more stupid catchy garage tunes. They are great and they need your nurturing and tough-love.

"Teenage Fuckin' Boredom EP" by 20 Dollar Whore is the latest, greatest record to be released by Big Neck Records. Now, 20 Dollar Whore are three teenage punks from Kouvola, Finland. These guys play a thrashy brand of punk rock and remind me a little of the Dirtys. They got some cheap guitar and a really bad attitude, which makes for some great rock n' roll. The "Asshole" side starts off with "Real Life B-Movie." It's got this blazing riff and I love the blow tube sound of the guitar solo. "Teenage Boredom" has a great sing-along chorus and it's cool how the guitar solo starts and stops with drum fills. The "Bitch" side starts off with "So Damn Hard" Now this is a sad tale of self destruction. "I started drinkin' every morning. Get to drinkin' through the day… gonna drink my life away. I wanna die that's right. Same shit every morning and every night." "Big Black Lover" ends the EP. It rocks hard and I think these guys wrote it after watching "Shaft." The new one of course, cuz they ain't old enough to have seen the original. So if you like your rock n' roll raw, fast, with tons of attitude and played on a shitty guitar, the 20 Dollar Whores are for you. You should definitely check them out on Big Neck Records.

Skinmags strewn all over the floor mixed in with copies of Alice Cooper and Nine Pound Hammer records it's real late at night/early in the morning but their so tanked and they from Finland so it's the season of the midnight sun....Party down...There's this strange parralel of this part of the world and the midwest ,'specially the deer huntin'. There's a lot of baggage to overlook here... but it's worth it for "Teenage Boredom" -- a rip snorting, sure-to-raise-a-ruckus gem that, given mega promotion, would likely stir up PMRC:Mach II. If the "boredom, boredom," refrain doesn't stir the marrow in your bones, you've got a disease I don't want to be near.

These guys sound like either the oldest teenagers in history or a vinyl lesson on the effects of mixing glue huffing and beer. Ugly good, and good and ugly white trash garage punk Rawk.
